The wealth of marine wildlife, including sea lions, dolphins and whales is unequalled anywhere in the northern hemisphere. The bountiful waters of the Sea of Cortez yield many tasty varieties of seafood.
The Mexican Government has recognized the value of this resource in the northern Sea of Cortez and established an area prohibited to commercial fishing. The area is defined by a line from Rocky Point to San Felipe on the Baja.
